We know that certain subjects are harder for some students. As schools are handing out report cards, if you notice that your student is not getting the grades they want, we can help.
We have academic support programs that are customized to fit your student’s needs. We will consult with you to address specific goals and how we can achieve them over the school year. Our main programs include:
Star Sessions: Our innovative approach to tutoring focuses on strengthening executive functioning skills in the context of the student's coursework. Our tutors have two roles: to instruct academics and to coach students. Tutors use a variety of proven processes, tools, and techniques to build organizational, planning, executive functioning, and academic skills. The goal is to help students improve their grades by supporting them with their most pressing and relevant academic work while simultaneously encouraging independence.
Test Prep: This tutoring option prepares students for standardized tests such as the STAAR, ISEE, PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Tutors will focus on the content needed to do well on the exam. Content reinforcement is best achieved through practice problems and practice tests. Tutors also review test-taking strategies and best practices.
Private Academic Tutoring: The primary focus of private tutoring is subject-specific remediation or enrichment to improve grades. We will use a combination of the student's homework as well as the materials we have on hand.
